RDU Airport, NC – In anticipation of the approaching winter storm, most all early morning flights scheduled to depart Raleigh-Durham International Airport tomorrow have been canceled. While airlines are currently planning on resuming flights late tomorrow morning and early afternoon, passengers with travel plans this weekend are advised to contact their airline to confirm the status of their flight as more cancellations may occur.
Links to airline Web sites, airline customer service phone numbers and flight status information can be found at www.rdu.com.
The airport will remain open throughout the storm, and most airline ticket counters will be open during normal operating hours to assist passengers. A few airlines will have modified schedules. Continental will open at 8 a.m. tomorrow, while AirTran and JetBlue will open at 9 a.m.
Crews at RDU are prepared to respond to the storm when it arrives. The airport and its contractors will treat and clear runways, taxiways and roadways throughout the night and over the weekend.
Travelers can follow RDU at twitter.com/rduairport for updates on airport operations.
