RDU Airport, NC – On Thursday night, June 8, media and passengers at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport will catch a glimpse of a few “celebrities” roaming Terminal A near the Delta ticketing counter area. These stars, who are actually theater students from N.C. State University’s Thompson Theater, will help RDU and Delta launch the new non-stop service from RDU to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
RDU will literally roll out the red carpet for the premiere of the airport’s only non-stop RDU-LAX flight, which departs Sunday through Friday at 6:55 p.m., arriving in Los Angeles at 9:10 p.m. local time.
In addition to saving business and leisure travelers time to reach one of the largest business and tourist destinations in the United States, the flight also is scheduled to quickly connect to Asian destinations from LAX.
The return flight departs from LAX at 10:30 p.m. and arrives back at RDU at 6 a.m. the following day, just in time to make connections to other major U.S. cities on the eastern seaboard.
Delta will operate the flight with a 150-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
