Raleigh Brewing Tavern to Open in Terminal 1
571,694 passengers boarded flights at RDU in April, representing a 6.2 percent increase over the same month last year.
“We are pleased that passengers continue to choose RDU but that growth comes with challenges,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “We are actively working to address our infrastructure needs and we ask passengers to pack their patience and arrive early as we navigate the busy summer travel season.”
Raleigh Brewing Tavern to open in Terminal 1: A Raleigh brewing company will add to the locally-inspired flavor of RDU’s dining options when it opens its doors in Terminal 1 in April 2020. Raleigh Brewing Tavern will feature craft beers from the Raleigh Brewing Company, along with coffee from North Carolina staple Port City Java, “grab and go” options, a sit-down breakfast, appetizers and entrees.
“We are excited to welcome another North Carolina-based business to RDU as we continue to expand dining and shopping options for our customers,” said Landguth.
The Raleigh Brewing Company is the state’s first woman-owned brewery and is now the third-largest production brewing company in Wake County. Uptown Airport Group, which has operated Char-Grill and Salsarita’s in Terminal 1 since 2014, will operate the Raleigh Brewing Tavern.
Parking promotion extended: RDU launched its new online booking system for parking in May with a $5 a day promotion. Thanks to an enthusiastic response, the airport is extending the promotion through the end of the month. Customers who create an account by May 31 will receive a promotional code to book parking online for $5 a day for the first five days in the Express lot.
Customers can find full promotional details and create their accounts at www.ParkRDU.com.
Refresh campus improvements: Construction and signage projects continued on the RDU campus in April as part of the airport’s Refresh infrastructure improvements. New signage at Terminals 1 and 2 will help manage curbside traffic and make the campus easier to navigate. Paving on John Brantley Blvd. will resume May 17 and last through May 19 after several weekends of rainouts last month.
