The inaugural nonstop flight from Bermuda to RDU arrived Friday on BermudAir, connecting the Research Triangle directly to the Bermuda Triangle for the first time.
“Thousands of travelers fly between RDU and Bermuda each year on vacation, for business opportunities and to pursue an education at our colleges and universities,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “We expect that number to grow now that residents of both Triangle regions have a quick, convenient way to travel on BermudAir.”
The nonstop service to Bermuda will operate on Fridays and Mondays. Bermuda is located about 650 miles east of the North Carolina coast and is just a two-hour flight from RDU.
“We’re thrilled to launch this direct connection between Bermuda and the Raleigh-Durham region, offering travelers a seamless, comfortable journey between our two dynamic destinations. This new route strengthens ties for leisure, business, and education, and we look forward to welcoming more visitors to experience the beauty and warmth of Bermuda”, said Adam Scott, Founder & CEO of BermudAir.
RDU now serves a record 15 international destinations, offering the Triangle region more options than ever before for travel outside the U.S. Nonstop service to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, launched this year. Flights to Calgary, Canada; Nassau, Bahamas; and Vancouver, Canada, will begin this summer.
