RDU Airport, NC – Passengers traveling out of Raleigh-Durham International Airport’s Terminal 2 this Friday afternoon will be greeted by the sounds of island music as RDU celebrates BahamasAir’s first flight to Grand Bahama Island.
BahamasAir is the national flag carrier of the Bahamas.
The live music, featuring the Tim Smith trio, will be featured in the Terminal 2 ticketing lobby.
Passengers can travel nonstop to the Bahamas each Monday and Friday. The schedule is as follows:
Depart RDU: 7 p.m.
Arrive Freeport, Grand Bahama Island: 8:55 p.m.
Depart Freeport: 4:05 p.m.
Arrive RDU: 6 p.m.
Xtra Airlines will operate the flight until the fall when BahamasAir will begin using its own aircraft. At that time, the airline will become RDU’s second foreign flag commercial carrier. The first was Air Canada.
