Passengers advised to contact airlines to confirm flight information
RDU Airport, NC – In anticipation of Hurricane Isabel, airlines at Raleigh-Durham International Airport have cancelled a limited number of flights scheduled for Thursday, September 18. Passengers with travel plans over the next several days are advised to contact their airlines before coming to the airport.
As of 5:00 p.m. this afternoon, 95 of the airport’s 410 daily scheduled flights had been cancelled, including all US Airways flights. Airlines are monitoring the hurricane and will make schedule changes as weather conditions dictate. More delays and cancellations could be announced later today and tomorrow.
To prepare for Hurricane Isabel, airport officials, airlines, cargo companies and other airport tenants have been securing materials, equipment and general aviation aircraft and testing all backup systems.
Many airlines serving RDU have posted to their web sites information regarding schedule changes due to Hurricane Isabel.
