RDU AIRPORT, N.C. – In anticipation of the approaching winter storm, some airlines at Raleigh-Durham International Airport have begun canceling flights for late this evening, tomorrow and Saturday. Due to inclement weather predicted for our region, the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, passengers with travel plans over the next several days are advised to contact their airline to confirm the status of their flight.
As of 5:30 p.m. today, the following cancellations have been announced at RDU:
- More than 200 arriving and departing flights have been canceled for Friday.
- JetBlue and Southwest airlines have canceled all flights scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Both airlines expect to resume operations on Sunday.
- American Airlines is scheduled to operate a few early morning departures tomorrow. All other flights are canceled until Saturday.
- Delta Air Lines has canceled 21 departures for Friday.
Further cancellations may occur.
