RDU Passenger Traffic Grows by Nearly 4 Percent in 2014

RDU Airport, N.C. – In 2014, 9.5 million passengers traveled through Raleigh-Durham International Airport, up nearly 4 percent compared to 2013. The numbers were released today at the monthly meeting of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority Board.

The number of passengers departing RDU in 2014 grew by 3.8 percent compared to 2013, while the number of passengers arriving at the airport grew by 3.7 percent.

“We are very excited about these numbers,” said RDU Airport President and CEO Michael Landguth. “Despite capacity cuts airlines have made over the past several years, we have been fortunate to have additional seats and flights introduced into our market in the past two years. As we have said before, if seats are available, our customers will book them.”
