RDU Airport, NC – This Sunday, October 26, the first flight will depart from Raleigh-Durham International Airport’s new Terminal 2. With the opening of the new facility, Terminal A will be renamed Terminal 1 and Terminal C will close.
Terminal 2
The following airlines will operate from Terminal 2: Air Canada, American, American Eagle, United, United Express and Charter Express.
Delta Airlines will begin operating from Terminal 2 on Sunday, November 9. Until its move, the airline will continue to operate from Terminal 1.
Restaurants and shops scheduled to open on Sunday in Terminal 2 include 42nd St Oyster Bar, Carolina Ale House, California Pizza Kitchen, 2nd Edition Book Sellers, Borders and more. Restaurants and shops will continue to open over the next several weeks.
Terminal 1
The following airlines will operate from Terminal 1: Continental, JetBlue, Northwest, Southwest and US Airways.
Terminal C
The last flight will depart from Terminal C at approximately 8 p.m. on Saturday night. The terminal will then close. Construction crews will begin demolition of the facility later this year.
The second phase of Terminal 2 will open in Winter 2011. When completed, the terminal will feature 32 boarding gates 44 shops and restaurants and sixty electronic kiosks.
