“We are thrilled Delta Air Lines will be adding nonstop service to Austin, which is our largest unserved nonstop market,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “We have been working for some time to attract nonstop service to Austin, as the city has many synergies with the Research Triangle Region including information technology and business analytics industries along with strong higher education ties.”
More than 250 people travel between RDU and Austin every day via connecting cities. Austin now becomes the 46th nonstop destination from RDU. In addition to being the state capital of Texas, Austin is known for its vibrant music scene as well as the annual South by Southwest festival.
