All parking facilities will be open for customer use
RDU Airport, N.C. – Starting Monday, April 4, customers at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) will have access to new parking offerings through its new parking program, ParkRDU. The program transforms parking into three new experiences:
- ParkRDU Central features more than 10,000 spaces within walking distance of both terminals. This area spans most of the main parking garage conveniently located between Terminals 1 and 2.
- ParkRDU Premier features 1,000 spaces in a dedicated, covered area for those wanting the ultimate ease and convenience. This parking area is on the ground level of the main parking garage with direct access to both terminals.
- ParkRDU Economy has more than 9,000 spaces available just a short shuttle ride away from the terminals. This area was formerly called ‘Park and Ride,’ and feature covered shelters, and convenient shuttles.
New drive-up rates for parking facilities go into effect on April 4. Hourly parking rates are now available in all parking lots. New rates are:
ParkRDU Central |
ParkRDU Premier |
ParkRDU Economy 3 (former Park & Ride 3) |
ParkRDU Economy 4 (former Park & Ride 4) |
$2/hour up to 4 hours with a max $14/day |
$3/hour up to 4 hours with a max $18/day |
$1/hour up to 4 hours with a max $7/day |
$1/hour up to 4 hours with a max $6/day |
Starting May 1, customers can book online to guarantee lot entry at the lowest possible rate. The online booking system, parkrdu.com, offers lower rates than those at the entry plaza as well as the ability to enter and exit the gates by using a QR code on a mobile device or printed confirmation.
Signage Installation This Weekend
New directional signage for all of RDU’s parking facilities will be installed throughout the weekend. Drivers are encouraged to use caution on airport roadways and in parking lots and be prepared for temporary lane closures.
RDU Experiencing High Travel Volumes
RDU continues to experience high travel volumes, and officials encourage customers to arrive at least 90 minutes prior to their departure time to allow for parking, check-in and security screening.
Parking Lot Status
Also starting Monday, RDU will begin improvements to areas of the ParkRDU Economy 4 lot. These improvements should not impact travelers and are part of the airport’s continued effort to provide a world class experience.
For the most up-to-date parking information, check RDU’s Twitter account (@RDUAirport) and website (RDU.com). Roadside message signs at the airport entrances also provide updated parking lot status information.
