London and Montreal Flights Return to RDU

Two popular international routes return to RDU this week, with American Airlines resuming service to London and Air Canada resuming service to Montreal. The nonstop flights were paused in 2020 but came back this month amid increasing demand for international travel. The Montreal flight, which connects travelers with the French flavor of Quebec, returned on June 1. The flight to London, the capital of the United Kingdom, will return on June 3.

Air Canada launched its first flight from RDU to Montreal in 2019, providing passengers easy access to one of the region’s Top Ten most visited international destinations. The flight will be operated daily on a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet. American Airlines began its nonstop service from RDU to London Heathrow in 1994 and the route quickly became the most frequented overseas destination for Triangle travelers. It will operate daily on a 272-seat 777-200. Along with Cancun, Reykjavik and Toronto, RDU now has five nonstop international destinations.
