About the Flight

American Airlines uses a Boeing 767 aircraft with both business and economy class seating for the 7 hour flight to London-Heathrow.  American Airlines is located in Terminal 2 at RDU, and the flight generally arrives at Terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport.

Visiting London

If your final destination is London, it’s easy to visit the city once your flight lands at Heathrow Airport. After clearing customs, you can take a variety of transportation methods to reach the London, which is 15 miles from the airport.  Public train, subway, bus and taxi services are all available once you are ready to leave the airport.

For U.S. citizens, a US Passport valid for the entire length of your stay is the only necessary travel document to enter the United Kingdom. Tourist visas are required after 90 days. Learn about documents for non-tourist visits of the U.K.
