Delta Brings Back Popular Salt Lake City Service in 2016

RDU Airport, N.C. – Delta Air Lines is re-introducing nonstop service to Salt Lake City. The flight will operate seven days a week using A-320 aircraft on a year-round basis beginning March 1, 2016.  Tickets go on sale on Saturday, Aug. 8.

The flight will depart RDU at 7:45 a.m. and arrive at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) at 10:25 a.m., local time. The return flight departs SLC at 5 p.m., local time and arrives at RDU at 11:15 p.m.

“Salt Lake City has long been a very popular destination for RDU travelers and we are glad Delta is resuming the service,” said Michael Landguth, President and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “The Salt Lake City region has several business ties to our region, has abundant leisure opportunities while SLC provides connections to other popular destinations in the West.”

Via Delta’s hub in Salt Lake City, area residents will find easy, one-stop connections to cities such as:

  • Calgary, Can.
  • Sacramento, Calif.
  • Reno, Nev.
  • Grand Junction, Co.
  • Boise, Id.
  • Palm Springs, Calif.
  • Puerto Vallarta, Mex.
  • Yellowstone Airport, Mont.

More than 54,000 passengers travel between the Triangle and SLC each year. Salt Lake City will be the 43rd nonstop destination from RDU. Delta previously offered the service from 2005-2009 and again from 2013-2014.
