RDU Airport, NC – On Tuesday, May 24, AirTran will begin operating in a new location in Raleigh-Durham International Airport’s Terminal 1. The airline’s ticket counter will be located next to Southwest Airlines’ counter. It will operate from Gate A24.

With AirTran’s relocation, the checkpoint in the main part of Terminal 1 will close. All passengers will use the security checkpoint and bag claim located in the northern part of the building near Southwest’s operations.

The airline is relocating as the Airport Authority prepares for a major renovation of Terminal 1. The modernization project will take place in the main part of the building, which will close late this summer.
