Air Canada Launches Inaugural Flight to Montreal

Montreal is a Top Ten International Destination for RDU Travelers

Air Canada has launched its first flight from RDU to Montreal, providing passengers with a daily nonstop route to the airport’s ninth most popular international destination.

“RDU is excited for Air Canada to introduce the region’s first nonstop service to Montreal, one of the airport’s most popular international destinations,” said Michael Landguth, president & CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “We are pleased to introduce a new international destination and celebrate what we know will be a popular route for our customers.”

Montreal follows Toronto as Air Canada’s second nonstop destination at RDU and will connect RDU travelers with the French flavor of Quebec.

“Our Montreal service complements our existing year-round service to North Carolina, including flights from Toronto to Raleigh,” said Lisa Pierce, Senior Director, USA Sales and Market Development at Air Canada. “Customers returning to Raleigh from an international destination through Canada pre-clear U.S. customs without even picking up their baggage if they are connecting, saving significant time on their journey.”

Air Canada’s new service will offer the only nonstop flights between RDU and Montreal. The flights are scheduled to arrive from Montreal at 3:45 p.m. and leave RDU at 4:15 p.m. on 50-seat Canadair Regional Jets.
