Avelo Airlines is expanding service from RDU with the addition of a nonstop route to Fort Myers, a leisure destination on the southwest Gulf Coast of Florida. Avelo will be the only airline offering flights from RDU to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) when service launches this fall. The two-hour flight will be offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays beginning Nov. 11. 

The announcement comes just a few months after Avelo began operating out of RDU with nonstop service to Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in Connecticut. 

The nonstop flight to Fort Myers is a returning route that has not been flown out of RDU since 2020. It will offer Triangle-area travelers affordable, convenient access to the popular Florida market.
