A video released by RDU this week shows travelers the new health and safety practices at the airport to protect against COVID-19. The #FlyConfident video, produced by Raleigh-based Amazing Studios, allows viewers to observe the new travel experience by following a passenger through the airport. The video captures the new health and safety measures throughout the traveler’s journey from the time they enter the airport and board a flight to the time they collect their luggage on their return trip.
RDU has implemented many new safety measures since the onset of the global health pandemic to provide guests confidence when traveling through the airport. Janitorial staff are more frequently cleaning and disinfecting common areas and high-touch surfaces. Queue lines are arranged to accommodate social distancing and include signage to encourage guests to wait six feet apart.
Guests will notice hand sanitizing stations throughout the terminals and plexiglass shields installed at airline counters, TSA checkpoint kiosks, information desks and store checkout counters. Signs, seat covers and floor decals emphasize the need to maintain a six-foot distance from others. Overhead announcements, physical and digital signs remind passengers of the state requirement that everyone in the airport wear a face covering. RDU is also helping guests comply with the face covering requirement by providing free masks at terminal information desks.
RDU is committed to helping guests fly with confidence by providing a clean environment and safe travel experience. Learn more about the airport’s health practices by visiting our Fly Confident. Fly RDU. web page.
