With the addition of Cancun, the airline will offer 15 daily departures to four cities. The other cities are Cleveland, Houston and Newark.
RDU Kicks Off 2011 with Increase in Passengers
RDU kicked off 2011 just as it ended 2010 – with an increase in passengers. Throughout January, 644,563 travelers passed through RDU, a nearly 2.5 percent increase over the same period last year.
“Even with major storms in the northeast and the Midwest, we saw an increase in passengers,” said RDU Airport Director John Brantley. “This is a good sign for RDU.”
The numbers were released today at the monthly meeting of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority board.
Last year, 9.1 million passengers traveled through RDU, a 1.5 percent increase over 2009.
