Vision 2040 is about connecting you to the people and places that matter most.

New runways? Larger terminals? Transit? What will RDU look like in the year 2040? Join us Tuesday, October 11th, to learn where we’ve landed with Vision 2040.

RDU’s vibrant future focuses on elevating your flying experience by investing in key infrastructure, bringing you closer to the people and places that matter most. Vision 2040 is also flexible; allowing your airport to meet the demands of the growing Triangle region and/or respond to changes in the aviation industry.

Plus, visitors will enjoy a more relaxing rental car experience and access to the region’s transit plan and facilities.

Vision 2040 Highlights:

  • Airfield enhancements (runways and taxiways)
  • Terminal expansion (T2 and T1)
  • More parking options
  • Single rental car facility within walking distance to our terminals
  • Transit connections
  • General aviation growth (corporate and private aviators alike)

At this workshop, you’ll have time to review the plans and ask questions of our staff and our master planning team, Ricondo and Associates.

Here’s a fun fact. Since launching this Vision 2040 master planning initiative in June 2015, we’ve held eight public workshops, two passenger engagement sessions in our terminals, and received more than 1,000 comments. And we aren’t done yet.

The details:

6-8 p.m.

Marriott Research Triangle Park

4700 Guardian Drive (off of Miami Boulevard in Durham)
