Fans of sweets and awesome travel accessories will soon have two new retail options! A new candy store, Lick, is coming to Terminal 2 while Travelab, which features travel accessories will soon debut in Terminal 1. And even more new experiences are on the way.
Travellab
Terminal 1, Gate A6
Travelab will feature a selection of travel comfort items including travel pillows and blankets, small electronics, business travel accessories, luggage, wallets, tr
avel games and more.
The store encourages travelers to try items before they purchase them. To aid in the process, the store will include a coach-sized airplane seat as the “lab” for testing out the travel items.
Travelab is expected to open in the early fall. Travellab replaces Techshowcase, which closed earlier in 2015.
Lick
Terminal 2, Gate C10
A temporary store, Lick will open early this Fall across from California Pizza Kitchen near Gate C10 in Terminal 2.
This fun, colorful concept will cater to kids of all ages. Travel back in time and find nostalgic candy brands that are just plain difficult to find these days.
You can also enjoy a selection of kids toys and games as well as apparel. Lick will be part of The Shops of RDU for the next year.
Bringing You New Experiences
RDU is growing! There has been a large increase in the number of passengers traveling through Terminal 2 since it first opened in 2008. To serve you better, we are have just launched a comprehensive redevelopment of The Shops of RDU in the terminal.
Starting with our retail stores, over the next several years, we will slowly introduce new shopping and restaurant options as well as increasing the total number of shops and restaurants to better serve the volume of passengers using the terminal.
Lick is the first new concept to be introduced in 2016. Later this year, we’ll be introducing two temporary food/beverage locations to help us through the transition process. More information on those will be coming soon!
