Phase II
Construction of Terminal 2 began in 2005, with the first phase opening in 2008. Phase II construction began just 10 days after the first phase opening. Completion is set for 2011.
What’s ahead in Phase II?
- A large central atrium
- One additional ticketing island
- An expanded checkpoint area
- Additional shops and restaurants
- A new concourse with 17 gates
- Two additional baggage claims
Pre-security
The second phase of Terminal 2 will feature:
- A large central atrium that will allow natural light to penetrate to the baggage claim level
- Two works of art
- A new ticketing lobby
- A second pre-security restaurant, Starbucks
- A signature mast and canopy outside, covering the roadway to provide protection from the elements as passengers walk from the parking garage
Security Checkpoint
When Terminal 2 is completed, three additional security checkpoint lanes will be added. The space will also feature a permanent domestic arrivals corridor with an 85-foot art mural. In addition, there will be an expanded meet-and-greet location with a large seating area.

Phase II will include four new works of art:
Shops and Restaurants
In 2011, 16 new shops and restaurants will debut in Terminal 2, including a pre-security Starbucks restaurant with dine-in seating. More information about these restaurants will be added as the project progresses.
