Arriving at London’s Heathrow Expands Travel Options
Central London and destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East and India recently became more accessible with the switch of American Airline’s daily London flight from Gatwick AIrport to Heathrow. The recent “Open Skies” agreement between the U.S. and Europe opened the doors for increased opportunities for Triangle-area travelers.

Destination Change Opens a New World
Letter from the Chairman

A significant change in air service occurred when American Airlines moved its highly successful London-Gatwick service to London-Heathrow on March 29th. The flight is important because it not only makes travel easier for passengers destined for central London or connecting elsewhere, but it also improves trade and tourism opportunities.

High Fuel Costs Affect Travel Industry-Wide

Airport Director Editorial
The price of oil on the world markets continues to rise. As it does, the price of fuel at the pump follows right along. That pump isn’t just the one at which you put gasoline in your car. It’s also the one that fills the fuel tanks of all of the vehicles that transport people and goods throughout the world. Cars, trucks, trains, ships and planes all are powered by engines that are fueled by oil.

Earlier Flight Artwork Soars at RDU
A new art installation in the RDU parking garage atrium stands as a monument to a time long gone, when travel was glamorous but available only to a few. At the same time it symbolizes the increased accessibility modern air travel brings with millions now flying with the ease of a flock of geese.
